  • Solid podcast app

I use this app every day. It is well designed and rock solid.
  • I love this.

After struggling with iTunes podcast app for too long, I went looking for an alternative. It’s been months since I started with overcast, and I still randomly feel happy and excited to use it. It’s so simple and easy, but also with a fair amount of settings you can fiddle with if you want to. Just feels good to have an app that is not overly complicated for no reason.
  • FLAWLESS podcast handling...

I was hooked on this after using it to listen to two podcasts.
  • Debilitating bug

    By mhshirley
Just switched from apple’s podcast app. Overcast has a clean UI and looks like it might be a pleasant change after Apple’s recent redesign. However ... after subscribing to many of the podcasts I was previously subscribed to, overcast has become unusable. After starting overcast, its screen locks after ~2 seconds and disappears after ~5 more, revealing iOS’ home screen. The app is still active ... it’s visible in the multitasking view. Switching to it again locks once more after 2 seconds as before and it disappears again. The problem seems to be related to downloading episodes as the app doesn’t hang when the phone is in airplane mode. This bug makes the app unusable. I can’t report the problem as a bug because doing so from the App Store switches to Overcast which hangs again. I’m reluctantly deleting it.

Been using this for a couple years now. Best podcast player hands down.
  • Ads? Really? 9.99/yr subscription?

    By Jasonovich von Hackelberg
$9.99/yr to remove ads. Really? Why bother. Apple’s podcast is ad free. Only slightly clunkier.
  • Excellent app, my favorite podcast player

    By JamieWho63
The latest update seems to have fixed most of my issues that I didn't know I had. I am enjoying smart resume and I found the setting to keep playing in my playlist in the nitpicky settings.
  • Sonos Integration

Great app, but really disappointed there still isn’t a Sonos integration. Any chance this is in the works?
