Learn Spanish, French, Italian, German, and many more languages with Babbel. Developed by a team of language learning experts, Babbel has helped millions of people speak a new language with confidence. THE BABBEL METHOD Here’s what makes Babbel more effective than any other language learning app: 1. Confidence — Our goal is to get you speaking from your very first lesson. And our elegantly designed courses give you the confidence to get there. We teach you how to engage in practical, everyday conversations, making it easier for you to have authentic experiences in your new language. 2. Comprehension — Our lessons immerse you in relevant culture and real-life conversations. We want you to really take in the language, not just memorize useless phrases. And we provide helpful hints in English (or your native language) to make your new language more relatable. 3. Retention — We know you’re busy. That’s why our lessons are short but sweet: about 10-15 minutes, and designed to send your new language straight to long-term memory. We regularly refresh your memory with our dynamic review sessions, which target areas where you need improvement most. Finally, we make sure you really grasp what you’re learning by bringing it back later in a new context. • Great app!

In just a few short weeks I went from absolutely zero Portuguese to being able to converse with relative ease. Awesome app! Highly recommend.
  • Don’t pay for a subscription...

    By muddyholly
I liked what I was able to access on babbel so I decided to splurge for a 3 month subscription. I took 6 years of Spanish in my younger days and was hoping to brush up before a trip next fall. After purchasing, I still was unable to access any lessons even though the app would state I was “already subscribed” when I clicked the subscribe button. I contacted app support with no response.
  • So you want to learn another language?

    By tttcensored
I signed up and paid for 3 months of Babbel. Now can’t resume my lessons. Long wait times for anything to load. Seems like the typical bait and switch. Great till you pay then nothing.
  • Love it so far, but...

I am loving this app and considering using it as part of our homeschool curriculum for next year; the only thing I’d love to see added is some type of progress report that can be printed out.
  • Very hard to understand

    By LindyRosa
The woman is better than the man and I wish I could choose to hear a woman’s voice over the man. The man speaks too fast to understand and I am about to give up on this app.
  • Great app but with one big problem

    By CNinWoodside
I’ve been using Babbel to learn German. I had previously used Duolingo but I can’t see how anyone could properly learn German with all the grammar explanations missing in Duolingo. I find Babbel to be a good, modern replacement for a German textbook. But Babbel has one major flaw IMO. In too many places, you only have one chance to hear the answer or to read the answer. Missed hearing that? Too bad. You’ll have to repeat the whole lesson to hear it again. There are places where you can hear things more than once and there is a lot of repetition but the makers don’t seem to understand that someone learning a language might want to hear a word or phrase over and over. Babel’s web app suffers this same problem. For me, this problem is so egregious that I was tempted to rate the app a 3. But I recognize all the good, hard work that went into developing it and gave a 4.
  • Lots of fun!

I’m taking a trip to Norway and decided to learn the language. The learning experience has been so much! My wife, daughter, and I have a blast working through the lessons. And most importantly, we’re actually learning the language! Great app for a great price!
  • Criticism

    By Pargolf12b
Maybe I’m doing this wrong but I need to learn simple vocabulary first. I’m having to deal with grammar and sentence structure and am completely lost! I hope I’m doing something wrong or this is a complete waste of time and money!
  • Cost too much!!!

    By Photosinger
This app costs way too much. There are many free language learning apps out there that are great, I will continue to use them and will delete this app until they let you learn a language for free.
  • I don’t really know

    By UnicornDreams735
This doesn’t have the language I was looking for. I wanted to learn Napali, my parent’s language. Because they came from a different country. So could you add that language please and I will give you 5 stars
