  • I love this app!

As a stay at home mom of a 5 month old and a 2 1/2 year old, this app helps add fun and learning into our days. It also makes me feel like I am able to bond with each of my girls individually where they are at developmentally. I love that you can mark your favorite activities or tell the app when an activity is either too easy or to difficult for your child. If you mark an activity as being too easy it will take it out of the rotation. If you mark an activity as too difficult it will add it back into the rotation in 3 weeks. As a sleep deprived, busy mom who also wants to engage with her children, this app does all the thinking for me. When we have some free time all I have to do is go to today’s program and there is a list of fun, amazing ways to use that time while also fostering growth and development. I also love how it breaks down each activity into categories of Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Cognitive, Speech, Self Care and Social/Emotional activities. Keep up the great work BabySparks!

My baby is 4 months and exclusively breastfed. The self care milestone is holding his own bottle. Can we get another option please? I help him hold a cup but that's definitely not the same thing... thanks

I wish I could find the ones I marked as “too hard.” It says they come back three weeks later but I have found a week is long enough. Other than that, we try to do these several times a week. EDITED TO ADD: WOW! Thank you for the response!

All the activities are very good for a child development. The videos and explanations are clear and helpful. I highly recommend this app.

I bought the one month subscription, then it turns out I didn’t buy it. Yet it was taken out of my credit card. So I just cancelled it instead.
  • Useful but annoying at times

Overall, it is a useful app; it helps with your child development and gives you idea what you can actually do with them. There’s a couple things that annoy me though. A new day starts at 12am, after which you can’t add or change anything in the previous day (check any completed exercises for instance). Often, I don’t have time for it before 12am. Thus, at the end of the day it is as if we’ve done nothing... and then at the end of the week, when they send you a report, they kind of rebuke you (in a very delicate form) for not doing enough with your child. The other thing, it would’ve been so great if you could substitute exercises. Let’s say you can’t do this particular one today (you don't have the right equipment, your child is not in the mood, or you just don’t like the idea of doing it, etc.), and you do something else instead. You want it to count. Since you can’t, again it looks like you’ve accomplished nothing.
  • Scam

You have to pay for all the activities. What a scam!
  • Needs suggested times for activities

Would be better if each activity had a suggested number of repetitions or time to spend
  • First review ever

Let me start by saying I have never reviewed any single app...ever. I was compelled enough to pause what I am doing right now (watching my 1 year old daughter do activities from this app!) and write a review. I don't even have the words to express how useful and priceless this app is. I of course started by using the free version. I was impressed enough to consider buying the paid version - which at $37, I was very apprehensive. I am the guy who will hardly ever pay even .99 for an app lol! After reading some reviews and a bit of research and realizing this app was developed by child specialists, doctors, etc I went for it. I must say, it is the best investment I can remember making in a very long time. Just ask yourself - what price is too much for your child's development in the early first most important months and years of their life? It was an easy decision for me. The ease with which they make the activities and ability to use simple household items is absolutely amazing. Where I truly found the value was the vast amount of variety in exercises that are provided. I have a tendency, like I think most ppl do, to be repetitious in the exercises or things I would teach her on my own. The benefit of this app is that there are endless exercises to do. Ones that I find myself saying to my wife "I wish I would have thought of that!" To sum it all up - if you are on the fence about getting the paid version of this app due to price...DON'T BE! It will be one of the wisest investments you can make in your child's development.
